The Jolly Brewers pub in Milton to reopen as the Brewers Inn
The Jolly Brewers pub in Milton has been sold and is in line for a name change under the new owners.
The pub has been acquired by Tracey and David Parkins who will now undertake a short refurbishment programme before reopening in time for the festive period.
The new business will serve a selection of well-kept cask products along with a wide variety of spirits, and in particular, gins.
The food menu will focus on beautifully done pub classics made with fresh, locally-sourced produce. The four B&B rooms will also be available again for anyone seeking to take advantage of comfortable, characterful accommodation in close proximity to Cambridge.
Chris Rogers of Everard Cole, who acted on behalf of vendor, confirmed the deal.
He said: “We are really pleased that the Jolly Brewers will soon be reopened to serve the village and the wider Cambridge community. We’re certain Tracey and Dave will do an excellent job and we look forward to popping in for a beer”.
Mrs Parkins, from Cambridge, said she hoped the plans they had for the pub would be welcomed by the village and that the name of the pub would change to the Brewers Inn.
She said: “It will have a different vibe and look to it. We are excited about what we want to do. We want to use locally produced food and put our own stamp on the pub.”
Mrs Parkin confirmed that more will be made of the patio area but ruled out sports being shown on large TV screens.
The new owners are currently putting together a new team in time for the relaunch in about five weeks time.
