Cambridge care provider launches urgent recruitment drive
Cambridge Homecare, a Waterbeach-based care provider which works exclusively for the NHS, has launched an urgent appeal for new staff to help provide care for patients being discharged from hospital, hence helping to free up beds for the expected admission of Covid-19 patients in the area.
Applications are being invited from people with relevant experience or those who are new to the care sector, from Cambridge and East Cambridgeshire. Immediate training will be provided.
Caroline Freeman, of Cambridge Homecare, said: “Cambridge Homecare is a nurse-led specialist care provider which solely works with the NHS. We have an immediate, increased need to assist in the process of discharging patients from hospital, and to avoid as many hospital admissions as possible.
“We urgently need an increase of community staff within the Cambridge and East Cambs areas, and we are currently running a rolling training programme to meet this current need, whilst keeping staff safe and well and following advice from HM Government.”
The company is looking to recruit 25 staff in this initial drive, although more new employees may be needed at a later date, depending on demand.
Caroline continued: “We know this is a difficult time for everyone and hope that this announcement will go some way in helping several people who have potentially been made redundant or have lost their jobs due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
“Please be reassured that social distancing will be adhered to throughout the interview and training processes, respecting the health and safety of all of those who apply.”
