Number of daily Covid-19 admissions to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge comparable to mid-December
Latest data shows Addenbrooke’s Hospital admitted 59 patients with Covid-19 in the seven days to May 15.
As of Tuesday (May 17), there were 41 patients in the Cambridge hospital with the virus, six of whom were in ventilation beds.
The trend suggests the overall number in the hospital with Covid-19 has been falling since late March, although the average number of daily admissions - around seven in the middle of May - was comparable to the numbers being admitted in mid-December.
Royal Papworth Hospital had just one patient with Covid-19 on its wards on Tuesday (May 17).
Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases continues to fall, although the true number of cases is harder to gauge from UKHSA figures, as fewer people have been taking and reporting test results since the ending of free testing.
Our analysis show Cambridge continues to have the highest reported infection rate, with East Cambridgeshire close behind.
