Overnight road closures as work on final section of Histon Road upgrade in Cambridge begins

The final section of work to upgrade Histon Road in Cambridge is under way - and should be complete by the end of the month.

Last month, the southern section from the Gilbert Road junction to Huntingdon Road was completed and opened to all traffic.

The scheme is designed to ease congestion and improve air quality by aiding walking, cycling and public transport.

A final set of overnight road closures are being put in place, covering:

  • Six nights from September 13-20 - the road will be closed from 8pm to 6am between the Windsor Road junction and Gilbert Road junction.
  • 13 nights from September 20 and October 8 - Histon Road will be closed between 8pm and 6am between the Gilbert Road junction and the King’s Hedges Road junction.

A signed diversion will be in place via the A14, Milton Road and Victoria Road.
