Papworth stop for phenomenal fundraising team
Cyclists make 200-mile trip to raise awareness of life-limiting rare disease
Cyclists from Team PHenomenal Hope UK and Ireland stopped off at the Royal Papworth Hospital on a 200-mile, three-day challenge to raise awareness of the life-limiting rare disease, pulmonary hypertension (PH).
The challenge was undertaken by nine riders, three from Papworth, with other cyclists taking part on each of the three days.
The route started in Sheffield and ended at Imperial College, London on Friday (October 26).
PH is a serious condition, which affects more than 7,000 people in the UK.
It is high blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs (pulmonary arteries), which can damage the right side of the heart and lead to heart failure.
