Party planned in Cambridge market square to celebrate Grade II listing of cobbles

Campaigners who managed to get Cambridge market square’s cobbles recognised by Historic England are celebrating their success at a party in the aquare – and everyone is invited.

The cobbles have been awarded Grade II listing, which provides them with some protection from development. A recent study by the city council suggested options for redeveloping the market that included replacing the cobbles to make the square more accessible.

The party is planned by the market’s fountain at 7pm on Monday, November 25.
Non-alcoholic mulled wine will be provided, but organisers have asked people to bring food.
