Patient emergency sparks Cambridge Park & Ride blood testing site closure




The blood testing service at Newmarket Road Park and Ride in Cambridge was forced to close today (Thursday, December 5) after a patient fell ill.

The service was closed at 11am but was later reopened and will be running as usual tomorrow.

A CUH spokesperson said: “At 11am today a member of the public became unwell at the Newmarket Road Blood Testing Station. Staff responded immediately, an ambulance was called, the patient was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for treatment, and the testing station was reopened. We would like to thank staff for their professional response, and apologise to those whose blood tests took longer than normal as a consequence.”of the incident.
