Pedestrian seriously injured after collision with van on Newmarket Road in Cambridge

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision with a van on Newmarket Road in Cambridge.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 8.35am today (Wednesday) and the road remains closed in both directions.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.35am today with reports of a collision between a van and a pedestrian on Newmarket Road, Cambridge.

“Officers are at the scene with firefighters and paramedics and the road is currently closed at the McDonalds roundabout, Ditton Lane and Newmarket Road.

“The pedestrian, a man, has been taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.”
