LEARN MOREIn a city tradition going back three decades, Cambridge pensioners set off on the much-loved annual older citizens mayor’s day out last Tuesday (August 13).
The coach trip, provided by Cambridge City Council, always includes a visit to the seaside and an afternoon show at the local theatre.
This summer’s destination was the traditional seaside town of Great Yarmouth.
Mayor of Cambridge Cllr Gerri Bird said: “Once again this summer we headed to Great Yarmouth for what promised to be a fabulous day out for so many people.
“I’d like to personally extend thanks to all of those organisations who have made generous donations and to the organisers who work tremendously hard to make this a special day for all!”
The day-trippers enjoyed a show at the Britannia Pier Theatre; a spectacular show of two halves – popular jazz from seven-piece band The Alley Cats and a captivating live magic performance from The Pentacle Club.
