Perse students among best in the country for A level scores
Perse students celebrate after 83 per cent posted A* and A grade returns
The Perse in Cambridge is celebrating after students posted some of the best A level results of any school in the country.
A total of 83 per cent of entries were awarded an A* or A grade (or the Pre U equivalent).
With nearly half of all Perse A level results being graded an A* (47 per cent), students in the Upper Sixth are looking forward to fulfilling their ambitions.
In total, 175 students secured 553 A level or Pre U exam passes.
• 118 students (67% of the year group) achieved 3 or more A* / A grades, and 94% of the Upper Sixth achieved at least one A* / A grade.
• More than 60% of Perse students achieved an A* in English Literature, Further Maths, History, Music, Physics, Psychology and Spanish. (In 2018 the national A* average for all subjects was 8%).
• 99% of entries were graded A*- C and 100% of entries were graded A*-E.
Delighted head Ed Elliott, said: “The Upper Sixth have worked really hard and are to be congratulated on their outstanding academic results. I am thrilled to see so many students securing top grades and progressing to their first choice universities. These achievements are the culmination of their considerable personal development and extra-curricular success at The Perse.
