Person dies after four-vehicle crash on A1 near Sawtry

A person has died after a four-vehicle crash on the A1 near Sawtry.

The incident happened at just before 7am today (Monday, January 17) on the A1 northbound near Sawtry.

The road has been closed by police, who warn that it will remain so for some time. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.

A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses, dashcam footage or anyone who saw the vehicles in the moments leading up to the incident to get in touch. Please contact us via web chat, online forms or call 101, quoting incident 77 of 17 January.”
