Police visited a home in Millfields yesterday (Tuesday, January 17) after receiving information from members of the public.

Officers found a van containing a large amount of soil and entered the house. They seized cannabis, which had already been harvested, worth about £12,000.

Three men aged 24, 24 and 52 were found in the property and arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis. They remain in custody at Parkside police station in Cambridge.

Sergeant Rob Taylor, from the South Cambs Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Thanks to information from the community, this illegal drug will no longer reach the streets.

“Drug trafficking is a source of revenue for organised crime groups, many of whom are involved in other forms of serious crime and modern day slavery.

“We encourage people to look out for signs of illegal cannabis factories including blacked out windows, unusual smells and people coming and going various times of the day.”
