Unconfirmed reports suggested a dispute broke out among teenagers over bikes locked up at the side of the park, and a weapon was produced during a chase.

Police called for anyone with further information to come forward.

A spokesperson told the Cambridge Independent: “We were called at about 2.25pm yesterday (February 24) to the skate park and arrived minutes later. There was a report of a screwdriver being produced but there was no injury.

“No victims were traced and a witness made no mention of injury, knives or other violence.”

The force said it would be checking with the hospital in case of any unreported injury to a young person.

“If anyone does have further information we would urge them to get in touch via 101 or our website,” said the spokesperson.
