Police find prohibited weapons when executing warrant in Swavesey

Police discovered prohibited weapons when executing a warrant at a home in Swavesey.

The southern community action team were acting on intelligence and arrested a 53-year-old Swavesey man on suspicion of the improper importation of weapons subject to a prohibition.

He remains in custody at Parkside police station in Cambridge.

The warrant was part of police efforts to tackle serious street based violence - a force priority.

Officers also held an event at Cambridge Leisure Park to speak to the community about such crime and the risks of possessing knives or offensive weapons in public.
