Police seek your views on rural crime and road safety in Cambridgeshire
Officers are seeking the views of residents in rural Cambridgeshire about crime and road safety.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary is halfway through a four-year strategy to tackle agricultural, environmental, heritage, hunting and wildlife crime, and improve the safety of our roads.
The Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT) recovered just under £1million of suspected stolen property, seized 163 vehicles used in crime, attended more than 1,700 incidents and prosecuted 83 suspects between April 2023 and March 2024.
Business burglaries with an agricultural and heritage element fell by 33 per cent in Cambridgeshire and police say incidence of coursing, lamping and poaching remain low.
Sgt Tom Nuttall, the force’s rural crime lead and heads up RCAT, said: “Though the data shows a reduction in rural crime in several areas, and an increase in positive outcomes in investigations, we want to know people’s perceptions of rural crime in the county.
“The answers we get will ensure we are on the right track in making rural Cambridgeshire a safer place.
“If you have been, or could be a victim of agricultural, environmental, heritage, hunting or wildlife crime, or involved in a rural road safety incident, we would really appreciate your views."
People living and/or working in rural Cambridgeshire are invited to complete a quick online survey by Sunday 24 November.
