The school was graded ‘good’ in all five of Ofsted’s key areas – quality of education, personal development, behaviour and attitudes, leadership and management and early years provision.

And according to inspectors, the school has the potential to be outstanding at the next inspection.

Headteacher John Canavan said: “We aim to provide our children with a place where they can develop and be inspired. It is really pleasing to see the final report reflect this.

“We are proud of all the children and staff, and particularly grateful for the community we have supporting us.”

The report praised the school for providing a caring, safe environment where pupils flourish and a climate where expectations are extremely high.

Pupils respond well to these expectations consistently, said the inspectors, who also recognised that students behave impeccably.

They found that teachers know exactly what to teach and when, and staff are excellent at supporting pupils with SEND. Staff are proud to work at the school and they feel well supported.

The arrangements for safeguarding at the school were seen to be effective.

Lesley Birch, deputy chief executive officer at Meridian Trust, said: “The school’s good rating by Ofsted reflects its commitment to providing a nurturing and enriching environment for the children. We are proud to see the collaborative efforts between the school and trust specialists in developing an ambitious curriculum that caters for the diverse needs of all students.”
