The 37-year-old was also captured on CCTV stealing £56 from a vehicle in Woodhead Drive.

Payne was sentenced at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on October 3 to 21 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to vehicle interference and theft from a motor vehicle. He had breached a suspended sentence.

PC Alex Thake, who investigated, said: “Payne is a prolific criminal with a multitude of previous convictions. He clearly shows a complete disregard for the laws imposed on him. We hope this latest prison sentence will encourage him to get the support he needs to live a crime-free life.”
