Prolific thief from Cambridge is back behind bars

A 38-year-old prolific thief from Cambridge who stole clothes and food is back behind bars.

Scott Reynolds, of Morello Place, was jailed on Monday (28 April) after stealing items from H&M on St Andrew’s Street and Aldi on Newmarket Road on 31 March and 8 April.

He also attempted to steal three bottles of whiskey from Tesco in Yarrow Road on 17 April.

Reynolds was given a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) in October not to enter any John Lewis or BP Store within the boundary of the M11, A11, A505 and A14. He must also not conceal any item in any shop within Cambridgeshire.

At Cambridge Magistrates’ Court, Reynolds pleaded guilty to two counts of theft, one attempted theft, one breach of a CBO and possession of cannabis. He was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison and must pay £300 in compensation to Aldi.

PC Maisie Hancock, who investigated, said: “Reynolds is a prolific shoplifter. We hope the message will get through to Reynolds that he will continue to find himself before the courts if he continues to breach the order and offend.”
