He returned three hours later and took more alcohol, worth a total of £3,500.

He was also captured on CCTV and by a member of the public when he stole a bike from Fitzroy Street on September 24.

Allgood was sentenced at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court last Thursday (October 5), to a year in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary and bike theft.

He was also given a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order not to enter the Co-op in Mill Road, Tesco in East Road or Petty Curry, John Lewis in Cambridge or Sainsbury’s in Eddington.

PC Alex Thake, who investigated, said: “Allgood is one of Cambridge’s prolific thieves. We hope this latest conviction will provide some much-needed respite to the businesses and staff across the city who have endured his offending.”
