Remain in your home with a live-in care service from Eaton

Choosing the right care provision for yourself or an elderly family member can be a difficult, emotional and daunting task.

As much as we might like to, the pressures of work and our own home life commitments mean that we can’t personally provide round-the-clock care for a loved one, and so challenging decisions have to be made. Sometimes it feels as if the only option is a care home. But there is an alternative.

Having a live-in carer provides dedicated one-on-one support, but also means your loved one can feel safe and protected by staff, whilst also having as much freedom as possible to do the things you want to do in their own home, regardless of their disability or other needs.

Caroline Freeman, of Waterbeach-based private care provider Eaton, said: “When choosing a care provider, it is essential that you choose one that is monitored and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England.

“The CQC monitors care providers to ensure that they are caring, safe, effective, responsive and well-led, and we are delighted that Eaton, a family owned, nurse-led company, has received a ‘good’ rating from the CQC.”

Consider live-in care as a kind of housekeeper ‘plus’ service, whereby a fully-trained member of staff lives in and has the skills to meet the needs of the client, including personal care and medication. The live-in care does not stop there though, as they also can assist with daily chores such as cleaning and laundry, even helping with the shopping or arranging social excursions.

With a live-in service from Eaton, you can be assured that you or your loved one is completely safe, no matter what time of day it is. This service also ensures that a client with even a complex condition can maintain a level of independence in their own home.

Eaton’s experienced staff also provide much-needed companionship and help those in their care to maintain interests, and also take them to visit friends and family.

Eaton staff are fully trained, ensuring all live-in carers meet and surpass national guidelines. Eaton is very selective at interview, making sure that they check references rigorously, undertake background and criminal record checks and provide on-going training encouraging personal and professional development.

All personal protective equipment (PPE), gloves, aprons are also provided by Eaton and there is also COVID-19 testing for staff prior to placement.

As a fully managed service, all Eaton home carers are employed by the company and are required to have, a minimum of 12-months’ live in care experience, undertake an enhanced DBS check annually and attend a minimum of three monthly supervisions, along with an annual appraisal.

A real-time digital care system supports each client to enable any family or relatives to monitor the care being received themselves via a family app. Live-in carers are required to complete detailed notes daily and are trained in identifying any change in needs of our clients.

Our nurse-led team work with our clients to develop a full care needs assessment to create an agreed plan of care. All our clients have their needs and plans reviewed by Eaton on an on-going basis.
