Renovated Cambridge FootGolf Centre swings into action

Cambridge FootGolf Centre has reopened in Milton following a refurbishment.

Founded by Richard Philp, renowned for his triumph at the UK FootGolf Open, the Cambridge FootGolf team has held a soft launch of its redesigned course off Ely Road.

Richard said: “There’s still plenty of work to the course that needs to be done, and the clubhouse is being remodelled this week.

“Then we’ll do a major launch once the clubhouse is done, but the feedback’s been really positive. Some people said they much prefer the new design layout. They said it’s more interesting and more fun.

“Then new people have turned up and had a good time and loved it, which is all you can ask for.”

Footgolf is a fusion of football and golf, in which players kick a football into an oversized hole in as few shots as possible.

Richard, a Cambridgeshire native and footgolf champion, seized the opportunity to bring the sport back to its roots after the closure of the previous Cambridge FootGolf Centre in 2022.

Nine holes start at £6 per person, or it costs £9 for 18 holes.
