Charlotte Cane wins Ely and East Cambridgeshire seat for the Lib Dems, defeating Conservative Lucy Frazer
Charlotte Cane has been elected as MP for Ely and East Cambridgeshire.
She beat Conservative Lucy Frazer, who has been the MP for nine years.
The constituency effectively replaces the former South East Cambridgeshire seat, which was a safe one for the Tories.
Lucy Frazer represented it for the Conservatives since 2015 and served as culture secretary in Rishi Sunak’s Cabinet since 2023.
