Roadworks to close part of M11 in Cambridgeshire this weekend
A section of the M11 in Cambridgeshire will be closed again this weekend for essential repair work.
The exit lanes on and off the M11 at junction 9 and junction 9a near Ickleton will be closed from 8pm on Friday (December 4) through to 6am on Monday, December 7, to allow Highways England to upgrade the road surface, which was laid during the ‘70s.
Some of the work was completed during a weekend closure in November when crews replaced 28 damaged concrete sections of road, ensuring smoother journeys for drivers.
As well as resurfacing and repairing potholes, the £2million project will also see new road markings and studs laid, and drains cleared.
To carry out our work safely, the M11 will close between junction 9 and the A11/A505 junction near Great Abington and divert traffic as follows:
Northbound traffic wishing to leave the M11 at junction 9 will continue northbound to junction 10, where it will leave the M11 and join the A505 eastbound to then join the A11 near Pampisford
Southbound traffic will be diverted off the A11 at its junction with the A505 to continue westbound on the A505, to then join the M11 southbound at junction 10.
