Hundreds of runners pounded the city's streets at the weekend for the sixth annual Cambridge Town and Gown 10k.

The event on Sunday (October 22) aims to raise £60,000 for the charity Muscular Dystrophy UK.

The charity fight muscle-wasting conditions by finding treatments and cures and improving the lives of the 70,000 people in the UK affected.

Around 2,000 runners set off from Victoria Avenue, with the race route looping around Cambridge city centre before stretching along the River Cam and finishing on Midsummer Common.

There was also a 3k junior fun run, which started 45 minutes before the event.
