Serial Cambridge shoplifter jailed and given order banning him from Sainsbury’s, Co-op and TK Maxx stores in Cambridgeshire




A serial Cambridge shoplifter has been jailed and given a five-year criminal behaviour order.

Cambridge magistrates handed Jamie Williams, 28, of no fixed address, the order on 17 July, banning him from any Sainsbury’s, TK Maxx or Co-Op in Cambridgeshire.

He was also jailed for nine months pleading guilty to 15 counts of shoplifting between 19 April and 5 June, possession of cannabis and two counts of assault by beating.

Sgt Dan Scott, from the spree offending team, said: “Williams is a notorious shoplifter who has caused misery to businesses in Cambridge.

“We will continue to work closely with businesses across the city to tackle shop theft and encourage businesses affected to report any breaches, which will be taken robustly by the courts.”
