Shadow Brexit secretary Keir Starmer visits Cambridge ahead of European elections

Shadow Brexit secretary Keir Starmer supported Cambridge MP Daniel Zeichner on the campaign trail ahead of the European elections.

They were joined on Saturday (May 18) by East of England MEP Alex Mayer, who said: “Keir is someone who really understands the benefits of our membership of the EU – how collaboration, cooperation and internationalism matter.

“For as long as Britain is in the European Union we need British MEPs standing up for the people of Cambridge.

“In the European Parliament I have a track record of voting for research funding for our universities, to crack down on tax dodgers and to improve working conditions for people on zero hours contracts including speaking out in support of the Cambridge McStrikers in the Parliament Chamber.”
