This weekend's weather forecast has forced Milton Country Park to postpone its autumn festival.

The event was due to take place on Sunday (September 23) but has been postponed until Sunday, October 7, because of predicted high winds this weekend.

The festival, which raises funds for the operation and maintenance of the park, is managed by Cambridge Sport Lakes Trust.

Spokesperson Sarah Harris said “This was a very difficult decision to take. We work on this event for most of the year and have many fantastic local businesses attending. We have been monitoring the weather closely and the winds speeds being predicted were outside what we felt was safe for an event of this scale.’

Tickets purchased and water activities booked will be transferred to the new date. Refunds are available for those who are unable to attend.

Sarah added: “The autumn festival is a really special event which gets better every year. We have plenty for everyone to enjoy and this year is no exception. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this change of date and look forward to welcoming visitors on October 7 for a fantastic day in the park.”

Tickets for the new date are £10, children under 16 go free, from miltoncountrypark.org or on the gate.
