Teenage boy dies after being struck by train at Waterbeach

A 16-year-old boy died after being hit by a train at Waterbeach station on Wednesday (March 1) evening.

Shortly after 5.10pm, officers from the British Transport Police were called to the station alongside paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service.

A statement released by the BTP said: “The boy’s family have been told and are being supported by specially trained officers.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
