The first Cambridge Home + Garden Show is tomorrow
The Guildhall will host a full day of free talks, exhibitions and demonstrations.
Almost a year in the planning, the Cambridge Home + Garden Show is the brainchild of Jennifer Chong, a Cambridge-based interior designer and project manager and owner of Feioi Interiors.
Jennifer has pulled together a very impressive list of exhibitors from right across the home and garden spectrum; interior designers and architects will rub shoulders with artists, timber specialists, slate makers and furniture designers.
The Guildhall’s exhibition hall will be packed full with talks and demonstrations, a pop-up café and professional design consultations.
It will be open to the public from 9am to 5pm and should inspire visitors when it comes to helping them create their dream home.
‘Home of eccentric British Design’, Mineheart, will be bringing some of its stylish furniture and accessories along to create a luxurious seating space by the café.
Jennifer told the Cambridge Independent: “I’m excited, but also anxious because I really want it to go well! I hope lots of people come and enjoy it, and for all the businesses involved to be happy and feel like they’ve got something out of it.”
The hard-working entrepreneur has put a great deal of effort into staging the event and is looking forward to witnessing the culmination of all her careful planning.
“It feels like it’s been a long time coming,” she added.
Jennifer continued: “There will be lots of different things going on, and for the visitor it will be quite interactive. I think the talk and demo programme is really good, the cafe and the Mineheart display look amazing, and there are consultations as well...
“It’s making it much more about a live experience, rather than an exhibition. There are many different elements to it, which will hopefully make it more enjoyable.”
The free show runs from 9am-5pm. Visit camhomeshow.com.
