Thief who stole from Cambridge Co-ops and threatened to stab member of staff is jailed

A 36-year-old who stole from shops in Cambridge and threatened to stab a store worker has been jailed for six months.

Marcus Sapra, of no fixed address, stole meat, alcohol and other food items from Co-Ops in Mill Road and Adkins Corner between August 17 and October 1.

At Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday (November 1), Sapra was sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to five counts of burglary and one count of assault.

PC Alex Thake, who investigated, said: “Sapra continually shows contempt for the laws and orders imposed on him. He admits that he steals to feed his alcohol and drug addiction and we hope with this latest sentence he will take up the support available to him in prison.”
