Three men arrested on suspicion of murder of man in Cambridge




Three men have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man in Cambridge on Sunday (10 March) morning.

Cambridgeshire police were called by the ambulance service at 5.19am with reports of a stabbing in Carlton Way in Arbury.

A man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at 6.10am.

A post-mortem examination has not yet taken place, but police believe the man was stabbed in a targeted attack.

Three men aged 19, 20, and 23 were arrested on Sunday night on suspicion of murder.

They remain in custody.

Det Chief Insp Katie Dounias, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “We continue to appeal to anyone with information to get in touch as a matter of urgency.”

Cambridge City Council expressed its sadness following the death.

Cllr Alice Gilderdale, executive councillor for community safety, said: "This is incredibly sad news and my thoughts are with the victim's loved ones at this time. We are in close contact with the police and are encouraging anyone who was in the Carlton Way area in the early hours of Sunday morning, or who has information that could support the investigation, to contact the police as soon as possible.

"Those living in and around Carlton Way who may be deeply shocked by what has happened are also in our thoughts.
