Two arrests made at Smithy Fen in Cottenham by Staffordshire and Cambridgeshire police




Staffordshire police have confirmed that two men were arrested during an operation that carried out with Cambridgeshire Constabulary at Smithy Fen in Cottenham.

The men, aged 28 and 35, were arrested at the travellers’ site on Thursday July 16 in connection with an ongoing investigation in Staffordshire and the West Midlands.

A Staffordshire police spokesperson said inquiries were continuing, but no more details of the investigation can yet be divulged.

Witnesses saw a dozen or more police vehicles at the site on Thursday, with some police present again on Friday morning.

While at the scene, Cambridgeshire police also identified a caravan as stolen, and towed it away.
