Two people were taken to hospital after a five-vehicle crash on the A14 this morning, in which a lorry overturned.
Police were called at 8am on Thursday (May 27) to the eastbound carriageway at Bottisham.
A police spokesperson said: “The collision involved five vehicles – two HGVs and three cars. One HGV had overturned blocking two carriageways.
“Two people have been taken to hospital but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
“The road is currently closed while the collision is dealt with, with motorists advised to take alternate routes.”
Highways England said: “The A14 is closed eastbound between junction 31 (M11) and junction 36 (Nine Mile Hill Interchange) due to a collision.
“Cambridgeshire police are in attendance.
“Delays are likely on approach to the closures, with additional journey times also expected on diversion routes.”
An Iliffe Media reporter, who was on the scene at about 10.30am, saw about three miles of queues near Newmarket, with traffic backing up as far as the racecourse roundabout on the A1304 and towards High Street.
