Watch a shocking armed robbery in progress in Cambridgeshire village
A shocking video of an armed robbery in progress has been released by Cambridgeshire police, along with CCTV images.
Detectives believe robberies two days apart at shops in Sutton and Linton are linked.
The video shows the incident in Linton, where at about 7.15pm on February 24, two crowbar-wielding men threatened staff at the Co-op, in High Street, forcing them to open the tills and safe. The men stole about £8,000 in total.
CCTV images of two men police want to speak to have also been released.
Two days earlier, at about 8.45pm on February 22, two robbers armed with crowbars and wearing balaclavas, struck at the One Stop shop in High Street, Sutton.
Demanding money from the tills, they escaped with about £1,000 in cash and cigarettes.
CCTV images of men police want to speak to in relation to this robbery have also been released.
Det Con Henry Longhurst, from the southern acquisitive crime team, said: “These incidents were both terrifying for the staff involved. We believe these robberies to be linked and would like to hear from anyone who recognises these incidents or witnessed them, to get in touch.”
