Water supplies restored after failure of Cambourne pump, says Cambridge Water
Thousands of households experienced low water pressure or an interrupted supply after the Cambourne pump failed on Sunday.
Cambridge Water said at 12.30pm that its engineers were on the way to fix the problem, which affected homes in the CB23 area, including Cambourne, Caxton, Bourn, Highfields and Caldecote.
But they had resolved the issued by 1.30pm.
The company said: “We can confirm the Cambourne booster, which was causing low pressure or no water has now been restored.
“All of the customers affected by this should now have their supply returned, you may notice that you water looks different than usual. This is perfectly normal and your water will be safe to drink. Running your cold kitchen tap will help to clear it.
“We're sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.”
