Woman, 60, arrested on suspicion of arson after Sawston house fire
A 60-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson not endangering life after a fire in Sawston on Saturday (August 7).
Fire crews from Cambridge, Cottenham, Burwell, Gamlingay, Manea and Huntingdon were called to the scene in Hayfield Avenue at 10.36pm. A drone pilot also attended.
Firefighters arrived to find a bungalow fire initially affecting three properties, then narrowing to two, and used jets to extinguish the fire and dampen down any hotspots.
One person was treated by paramedics. All crews returned to their stations by 4am.
A fire investigation dog from Essex attended to assist the fire investigators.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Constabulary confirmed that a 60-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of arson not endangering life and has been released under investigation pending inquiries.
