Woman fights for life after being struck by van as she walked along A1 in Cambridgeshire
A woman is fighting for her life after being struck by a Citroen Relay van as she walked along the southbound carriageway of the A1 near Little Paxton.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident just before 9pm on Monday (September 18).
Ambulance crews attended and the woman, who is in her 60s, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where she remains in a critical condition.
The road was closed while the vehicle was recovered and the van driver, a man in his 50s, is helping police with their enquiries.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or the pedestrian in the area beforehand, should call 101 and ask to speak to a member of the road policing unit, quoting Op Gulati or incident 512 of 18 September.
