Many places will miss these, but where they do occur, 20mm of rain may fall in less than an hour with 30mm possible within two hours in one or two places.

Lightning will be an additional hazard for some. Showers and thunderstorms will then gradually disappear during Thursday evening.

There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus

A chance of some flooding of a few homes and businesses is also possible, leading to some damage to buildings or structures. There may also be delays to train services.
