Your Cambridge Independent will be out on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve 2024

Your Cambridge Independent will be out a day earlier than usual over the festive period.

The following week, the paper will be out from New Year’s Eve - Tuesday, December 31.

We’ll return to our usual Wednesday publication date in the new year.

And we have lots lined up for the two issues.

Look out for pictures from Luminaria, the concert of light at St Catharine’s College, and of presents being delivered to those at Addenbrooke’s.

And in addition to all the news and sport, look out for our film critic Mark Walsh’s countdown of the top 100 films of the year, and columnist Paul Kirkley has written a Christmas ghost story for us, which you’ll be able to read in full in the edition out on Christmas Eve.

Cambridge quizmaster Frank Paul’s fiendish quiz has become something of a tradition in the Cambridge Independent at this time of year - you’ll find it in our edition out on New Year’s Eve.

Of course, there’s still time to pick up a digital subscription for yourself or as a gift for someone else, and then you’ll be able to read the paper in full whenever you want over the festive period on a laptop or device.

You’ll also get full access to our Premium website and our app, with more content, puzzles and titles.

Use the code HALFPRICE on our subscription page and you’ll get 50 per cent off an annual subscription for you or a loved one. At £27.44 for a year, that’s the equivalent of less than 53p a week.

Merry Christmas from the Cambridge Independent - and a happy new year.
