Cambridgeshire woman, Tracy Wilkinson, is spearheading a drive to raise funds for Children's charities across the city

A Cambridgeshire woman is spearheading a drive to help local children’s charities that miss out on funding.

Wellbeing trainer and volunteer Tracy Wilkinson, 52, is one of the main organisers of Cambridge Children’s Charity Week, which has raised more than £30,000 for deserving causes in the last two years.

Events for the third annual charity week will take place from June 2-10. Among the events is the Yellow Brick Road art exhibition between June 4-16 at Michaelhouse Centre, Trinity Street. This showcases the work of established and emerging artists and has the support of Kettle’s Yard. It is the brainchild of volunteer Lois Gillie-Andrews. There is also a ‘Children helping children’ art exhibition at Byard Art gallery between June 8-10.

Supported by Citrix and Domino Printing, the events are all aimed at raising as much money as possible for local children’s charities.

Ms Wilkinson said: “Some children don’t have the greatest start in life. Children, whether they live in poverty, have a mental health condition or disability, are our future talent pool. To give back to those less fortunate than our own children is something that drives everyone involved in the CCCW.”
