Old Leysians had a comprehensive win at the weekend.

Adam Newman and Titus Waldock were the leading wicket-takers as Old Leysians claimed a 10-wicket win over AK XI in Whiting & Partners Cambs & Hunts Premier League, Division Three.

They prevented any AK batsmen getting out of the teens as they were bowled out for 129.

Newman took three for 42 and Waldock claimed three for 36.

Old Leysians then strolled to victory.

Chris Tapping made 78 and Newman hit 29 as they reached 130 without losing a wicket.

Matt Daniels’ fine form with the ball continued as Foxton II secured a 62-run win over Bharat Sports.

Daniels has already returned an eight-wicket haul this season, with eight for 20 against AK XI, and this time he had to settle for just the five.

Steven Smith struck 63, James Buss made 51 and Tim O’Connell hit an unbeaten 45 as Foxton were bowled out for 240.

But Daniels took five for 23, including four maidens from his 10 overs, to remove five of the top six batsmen as Bharat Sports were stopped on 178 for 9.

Aatish Kean Maharaj was the star of the show for Cambridge St Giles as they triumphed by 128 runs against Castor & Ailsworth in Division Two.

Garryth Jackson made 52 and Will Phelps smashed 40 as St Giles were bowled out for 225.

Brandon Purcell and Keiron Rodgers took four wickets apiece for Castor.

Maharaj matched that tally though, taking four for 23.

Alex Meddle chipped in with three scalps for 14 as St Giles bowled out Bharat for 97.
