Alex Sears’ work with the ball helped Cambridge Cricket Club earn a 10-run win at Horsford in the East Anglian Premier League.

Cambridge were put in to bat and in a rain-affected game, Johnny Atkinson made 25 and Dougie Rice’s 17 helped Cambridge to 92 for 7.

It was similarly hard going with the bat for Horsford, who also only had three players get into double figures.

Sears finished with three for 24 and Kieren Mackenzie and Zaman Akhter got two wickets apiece as Cambridge dismissed Horsford for 82.

Burwell & Exning suffered a 50-run defeat at Frinton-on-Sea.

An unbeaten 79 from Blaine Bannister helped Frinton to 225 for 5, with Andrew Bramley the pick of the bowlers with three for 37.

Tom Jagot led the way from the top of the order for Burwell & Exning with 79, but he found partners hard to come by as they were dismissed for 147.

Bannister and Dulanjala Mendis took four wickets apiece.
