Josh Brown was in smashing form for Histon as they earned a 190-run win over Thriplow in Whiting & Partners Cambs & Hunts Premier League, Division One.

In one of only three matches across the three divisions to escape the rain, Brown made the most of the chance to play in a reduced-overs game.

He hit 10 sixes and six fours in a total of 100, while Ed Hyde smashed nine fours to reach 60 not out as Histon made 310 for 5.

Brown then delivered with the ball as well, taking four for 31, and with Sean Stevenson snaring four for 36, Thriplow were bowled out for 120.

Their top-scorer was No 8 batsman Tristan Tusa with 34.

Nigel Gadsby hit an unbeaten half-century as Foxton II triumphed by nine wickets against Newborough in Division Three.

Newborough batted first, but the wickets fell at regular intervals, preventing them from building any momentum.

The leading wicket-taker was Steven Atherton, who took three for 14, as Newborough were stopped on 139 for 7.

Foxton reached the target with the loss of only one wicket, Lennon Lawrence for 26, as Gadsby made 50 not out and Hayden Brown struck an unbeaten 46 with Foxton reaching 143 for 1 to secure the win and close the gap on leaders Eaton Socon II.
