Connor Barnes and Danny Gould on target in Histon’s draw at Coventry United
Histon racked up a fourth draw in their last six Uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division South outings after sharing four goals evenly at Coventry United on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, hosting Coventry went on to break the deadlock through Charlie Morgan, who got up highest at the back post to send a downward header beyond the reach of Histon goalkeeper Sam Roach.
The travelling Stutes responded positively though and they restored parity via a Danny Gould corner that was turned in by Connor Barnes.
And it was Gould that went on to put Histon in front when he kept his composure from the penalty spot.
However, United earned themselves a point when Joe Blowers’ late strike from the edge of the box left Roach no chance.
Chris Nunn’s Histon will start a sequence of back-to-back home matches on Saturday (17 February) when they welcome Eynesbury Rovers, who are without a win in 12 games, to Bridge Road.
