Cambridge Baseball Club’s senior sides record mixed set of results against Herts Hawks, Norwich and Harwich
The Under-16 Cambridge Baseball Club Atom Smashers shared the spoils during their first outing at the National Baseball and Softball Complex in Farnham earlier this month.
Up against London Youth Baseball League’s Team 1, the Atom Smashers were edged out 8-7 in their opening encounter.
Cambridge scored five runs thanks to hits from Landon Walker, Graham Arthaud are Jereme Brown, while pitcher Jaykob Kreider struck out four opposition batters.
And that was followed by a 6-2 triumph next time out against Herts following base hits from Arthaud, Walker and Lucas Jaime.
Elsewhere, the Cambridge Lancers split their two encounters against Herts Hawks.
Timely hitting performances by Clay Muscio, Brett Donner, Christopher Hoppe and Steven Zemke – along with a strong pitching performance by Dylan Tart – earned Cambridge victory in game one, only for Herts to respond in the second fixture with a win of their own.
Meanwhile, Cambridge Royals swept aside Norwich Rebels in their double header as they followed up a 6-5 victory with a 19-3 triumph, which featured five runs from Cygnus Cheung.
In contrast, Cambridge Monarchs ended up on the losing side in both of their encounters against Harwich Town Bay Area Blues.
