Striker commits to the end of the season

Barry Corr has signed a contract with Cambridge United until the end of the current Sky Bet League Two Season.

The 32-year-old striker penned a three-week non-contract deal with the U's at the start of January in order to prove his fitness after being plagued by injuries for the previous 18 months.

He had been released by the club last summer, but continued to work closely with the medical staff to review his fitness and ability to handle the workload of first-team training.

Corr has featured three times as a substitute in January to earn an extended stay at the Abbey to continue to work towards full-match fitness.

"I'm really happy to be back at the club and pleased to be given the opportunity for the rest of the season, said Corr, who has scord 14 goals in 29 appearances for the U's.

"I'm looking forward to continuing my time here and hoping that I can contribute towards helping the team move upwards between now and May."

United have also revealed that an announcement will be made on Friday regarding the future investment from Paul Barry.
