Bella Simmons on fire for Cambridge City

By CambridgeIndependent Reporter

Lilywhites progress with ICA Sports victory

Bella Simmons grabbed four goals as Cambridge City beat ICA Sports in the Cambs FA Invitation Cup.

There was a two-division gap between the teams, but City were given a shock when the visitors broke the deadlock after a minute.

But Simmons struck twice to give the Lilywhites a 2-1 half time lead, and not long into the second half, she headed home Sarah Mosley’s corner to complete her hat-trick.

Anna Kanz scored her first goal for City with a half-volley from just inside the area, and Simmons popped up again for her fourth to move City into the semi-finals.

There was no such joy for City’s development team in the S-Tech Women’s League, Premier Division as they lost 4-1 at Newmarket Ladies.

Newmarket were quick out of the blocks and were 3-0 up by half time.

After it went 4-0, Rachel Littlewood headed City a consolation.
