Bumper turnout for Cambridge School Sports Partnership girls' football tournament

After a hiatus of an academic year, inter-school sport returned at Netherhall last week.

The school staged a girls’ football competition, which was run by the Cambridge School Sports Partnership.

There was a demonstration of determination and passion in all the matches as13 teams from 11 different primary schools contested the event, which was made possible now that Covid guidelines allow them to take place.

“Girls’ football is growing fast, and this is the most teams that have ever entered our competition”, said Cath Heron, the CSSP partnership manager.

“It was great to see so many young people taking part in our first competition of the year, and they all showed key skills of team work and collaboration.”

The winners of the tournament were Colville, with St Laurence RC School in second place and Fen Ditton in third.
