Buster Harradine was at the double for Histon as they defeated Heybridge Swifts 2-1 in The Pitching In Isthmian League, North Division.

In their return to league action after six months away, they suffered a blow in the warm-up when James Chivers was injured, giving Tobi Lawal his first start for the Stutes.

The deadlock was broken after half an hour, with Harradine taking a cross on his chest at the back post before firing a shot into the far corner.

Histon doubled their lead just before the break. They were awarded a free kick 25 yards out, and Harradine curled his shot over the wall and into the corner.

Swifts were eager to get back into the game in front of their home fans, with Chris Gregan pulled a goal back from close range after an hour.

Histon held firm to seal the win, and are next in action at home to Soham Town Rangers on September 29.
