Cambridge Rugby Club begin recruitment process with addition of Louis Grimoldby from Bedford Blues and Coventry’s Jack Bartlett
The 2023/24 season may have only finished three weeks ago, but Cambridge’s director of rugby Richie Williams has already started building his squad for next term.
The Ellgia Fields side, who finished bottom of the RFU Championship but were reprieved from relegation, have secured the services of Louis Grimoldby and Jack Bartlett.
Fly-half Grimoldby has agreed to join Cambridge from fellow second tier side Bedford Blues, for whom he scored 187 points from 69 appearances.
The 30-year-old has also previously turned out for Harlequins, Ampthill and Rugby Club Massy Essonne in France.
Meanwhile, versatile back-rower Bartlett has signed from another Championship outfit – Coventry.
The former England youth international, who made his professional debut for Gloucester in 2018, turned out on 18 occasions last season.
A host the previous campaign’s squad have also agreed to remain in situ, including captain George Bretag-Norris, Ben Brownlie, Matt Hema, Kwaku Asiedu, Joe Tarrant, Tom Hoppe Matt Williams, Eli Caven and Sam Hanks.
